Privacy Policy

01Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, the App receives your name, your email address and an account identifier from them, and keeps them on your device to show your account and keep you signed in. Node has no servers of its own, so these are not sent to us. We do not ask for a password, and we never see the one you use with Apple or Google.
• Purchase Information: Node is currently free and offers no purchases. If we add subscriptions, our payments provider (RevenueCat) will record that a subscription is active so the App knows what to unlock, and we will update this policy before then. Card details are always handled by Apple and are never seen by us.
• On-device Information: Your listening minutes, session count, streak, history, saved sessions, saved blends and every setting are stored on your device only. They are not sent to us, and we cannot read them.
• Usage Data: The App sends our analytics provider (PostHog) a record of how it is used: which screens are opened; which sessions are started, finished and favorited; the steps of the welcome questions, including the answers you choose and the questions you skip; whether you continue with Apple, Google or without an account; timers set and searches made (never what you type in search); plus your app version, your iOS version, your device model, and the approximate country and city you are in, which PostHog works out from your IP address. It is tied to a random identifier created on your device, not to your name, your email or your Apple or Google account. This is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time by switching off "Share usage stats" in Account → Privacy & Data, which stops it immediately and deletes that random identifier.

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, or anything you say or type beyond what is listed above.

02How We Use Your Information

• To Provide the App: To sign you in and keep you signed in on your device.
• To Improve the App: Unless you have switched off "Share usage stats", to understand which sessions and screens are used.
• To Answer You: If you email us or send feedback from the App, to reply.

That is the whole list. We do not build a profile of you, we do not use your information to target advertising, and we do not send marketing messages.

03Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:

• With the service providers who run parts of the App on our behalf — Apple and Google for sign-in, RevenueCat for subscriptions once we offer them, and PostHog for usage analytics unless you have turned them off — and only what each needs to do its job. PostHog processes usage analytics on servers in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, that means your usage data is transferred outside it; the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and it stops as soon as you switch analytics off.
• When we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
• If our company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will say so before your information moves.

04Tracking and Advertising

Node does not track you. We do not show advertising, we do not use the advertising identifier, and we do not link your activity to any other company's apps or websites. The usage analytics described above, when you switch them on, are used only by us to understand how the App is used; they are not combined with data from any other company and are not shared with data brokers. Because of this the App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission — there is nothing to ask about.

05Data Security

We protect your information with the security measures appropriate to it, and we hold as little of it as the App can work with — which is why your listening data never leaves your phone. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

06Your Rights

• Delete your account: Tap the account icon at the top right of the home screen to open Account, then choose Delete Account. This signs you out and removes your account information from the App. Deleting the App removes everything stored on your device.
• Usage data: Switching off "Share usage stats" stops analytics and deletes the random identifier on your device. To have usage data already sent deleted, email us.
• GDPR: If you are in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, transfer, restrict, object to the processing of, and delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise any of these.
• CCPA: If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we have collected about you and to have it deleted. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

07Children's Privacy

Node is not intended for users under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will remove it.

08Health and Medical

Node plays sound. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing in it is medical advice. If you have epilepsy, a seizure disorder, a pacemaker, or any condition affected by rhythmic sound, speak to a doctor before using it.

09Our Website

nodesound.app does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure. The sound samples on the website are generated in your browser and nothing about them is sent to us.

10Third-Party Links

The App and our website may link to websites we do not run. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

11Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
